Visa free entry for indians
Georgia Grants Visa-Free Entry to Eligible Indian Travelers
A significant move to enhance tourism and strengthen bilateral relations, Georgia has introduced a visa-free entry policy for certain Indian nationals. Effective May 21, 2025, Indian passport holders possessing valid visas or residence permits from the United States, United Kingdom, Schengen Area, or Japan can enter Georgia without the need for a separate Georgian visa.
Eligibility Criteria for Visa-Free Entry
To qualify for this visa exemption, Indian travelers must hold a valid visa or residence permit from one of the following regions:
United States
United Kingdom
Schengen Area
Japan
This policy allows eligible individuals to stay in Georgia for up to 90 days within any
180-day period.
Alternative for Non-Eligible Indian Travelers
Indian nationals who do not possess valid visas or residence permits from the specified regions can still visit Georgia by applying for an e-Visa. The application process is straightforward and can be completed online through the official Georgian e-Visa portal.
Implications of the Policy Change
This visa policy reform is part of Georgia's broader strategy to attract more international tourists and foster cultural exchange. By easing entry requirements for Indian travelers, Georgia aims to boost its tourism sector and deepen its relationship with India.
